While 90% percent of businesses are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. There are few small businesses still thriving and some of them even booming. The Philippines are one of the countries that have the longest lockdown. We are now entering 11 months, the longest in Asia maybe the world.

1. Sari Sari store

Most bigger stores feel the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic some small businesses like Sari-sari stores still thriving in Talipapa (a small wet market). due to lockdown, most people rely on these small stores to buy most of their necessities.

2. Bakeries

Corner bakeries still striving even with the lockdown people are still lining every morning to buy their favorite pandesals.

3. Puriefied Water refilling Stations

Even with the pandemic purified water refilling stations still deliver water to their suki (customers).

4. Trycyle or TODA

Maybe in the first few months, they are the ones badly hit by the pandemic, But now they bounce back thanks to the easing of policy on each city and town within the country

5. Delivery and Transport

This small business company actually booming during the pandemic as most people stay at home. People prefer home delivery hence the rise of multiple delivery apps in the market.

6. Crematorium

People avoid large gatherings during a wake for fear of COVID-19 infections, prepares their dead to be cremated.

7. Online Sellers

Though most of these online sellers are also small business owners with bricks and mortars stores. They are now thriving online, a lot of them have online stores on different platforms like Lazada, Shopee, and LookingFour.

8. Home base Workers

Initially, these people are mostly affected by the pandemic. Some of them have been laid-off or let go due to company cost-cutting. Now found new ways to earn while staying at home.

Maybe some of you argue that they cannot consider a small business because they traded their time for money. What they are selling is actually their skills. You can’t get clients if you don’t know how to sell yourself.

9. Youtubers and Influencer

Because of the pandemic, a lot of people who are staying at want to find new ways to earn a living. Some of them become YouTubers and Influencers. Reviewing products and talk about their life. Youtubers and influencers are small business owners too they’re using their creativity to get sponsorships.

10. Cleaning Services

Cleaning services is a business that is booming during the pandemic. One cleaning service casually tells me about how much they earn in the last 10 months alone. Not only they get more booking per month they also get more franchisees to signup for their business.

If you want to have a business that almost sure that earn for the next 2 to 3 yrs and get your investment within a year. Be the franchisee of this company.

11. Pharmacy

The small pharmaceutical store is also thriving this time of pandemic since they are the provider of medicine and most accessible to people in need of medicine.

12. General, Dental and Ob-gyn Clinic

Most of the small clinic also thriving though with limited capacity due to pandemic regulation in each city people still many people visited thier prefered clinic for different their needs. After 3 to 4 months of lockdown, there’s now a surge of a patient visiting the ob-gyn clinic.
